I am Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister of Nagaland, India, with a lifelong commitment to public service and a deep passion for impactful governance. A native of Nagaland, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Kohima Arts College under North-Eastern Hill University before embarking on my political journey.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving in various ministerial roles, including Sports, Higher Education, Art & Culture, and Technical Education. I am honored to be the first Chief Minister of Nagaland to serve five terms in office, a reflection of the trust and aspirations of the people I represent.
Beyond my political life, I find joy in farming, reading, and exploring cinema. Traveling fuels my curiosity and broadens my understanding of the world, which is why I am especially excited to be here in Vienna. I look forward to engaging with this vibrant community, exchanging ideas, sharing experiences, and gaining new perspectives that will enrich both my personal journey and my service to the people of Nagaland.
